Bahia has more than 1000 km of coast and gorgeous sandy beaches. From September to May you have the ideal travelling climate for Brazil. Discover Afro-American culture, the baroque Old Town of Salvador, picturesque coastal towns and, last but not least, the world´s largest street carnival, which the Baianos celebrate on their streets, squares and beaches.

An ideal location for your holidays, on busy or lonely beaches, in villages and cities or on the road. The Brasilieros are friendly and helpful people and Germans are welcome guests in Bahia.

Brazil´s president Luiz Inácio da Silva, or Lula for short, is also a true Nordestino, i.e. a person from Brazil´s North-East, to which Bahia belongs. The exchange rate has changed favourably for the Euro over the last few years. Vacations in Brazil are therefore becoming cheaper and cheaper.
